Naughty or Nice?

Hi, I'm back again with my second post for today! I recently purchased some fun digital images from Bugaboo Stamps, there are some hilarious images and quotes over there. This card uses the fun character, JJ. I've coloured her with Copic Markers, the patterned paper is by Kaisercraft. I'm entering this for Bugaboo Stamps challenge blog, Catch the Bug - the theme this week is Anything Goes.

OK, that's it for today! I think I'm getting near the end of my Christmas card list now, just have to hurry up and get them sent out. Hope you have a great day and thanks for visiting here today!

Celebrate!

Hi everyone, I haven't quite disappeared off the face of the earth, but it has been quite a while since my last post! It's been quite a stressful few weeks for me, the results from my latest CT scan showed up "something" which my oncologist was convinced was a new cancer. He sent me for a PET scan just to make sure and after a nervous wait, the results showed that it wasn't cancer at all!! You can't begin to know the relief I felt hearing that news! They're still not sure what it is that showed on the CT scan, so the scan will be repeated in around 5 weeks time. Comparisons with this PET scan and the one I had done last year also showed a reduction in the size of the nodal cancer that showed in the first scan.......which means the chemo is doing it's job, thank goodness!

Needless to say my creative mojo had gone out the window so it's taken me this long to finally come up with a new card. I've used the sketch from Annabelle Stamps Blog and the theme from The Pink Elephant Blog - Childhood.

I just had to use this digital image, a freebie from Mo's Digital Pencil, as it shows exactly how I felt when I got the report from my PET scan! The image is coloured with Copic Markers, the background is done lightly with chalk as I don't have an airbrush system for Copics. The greeting is from a Fiskars clear stamp set. Also used Kaisercraft rhinestones, Bazzil cardstock, Nestabilities and Heidi Grace patterned paper.

Hopefully I can catch up on my blog comments over the next few days. I haven't been on the computer much lately as finally we've had some Spring weather and I've been doing a little Spring Cleaning, which didn't get done last year as I was recovering from surgery, and some tidying up in the garden. Hopefully we will be growing more of our own vegies this year as I'm trying to eat more organic foods now and prices are about double if you buy organic from the supermarkets!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!

Ouch!!

This is another 2 challenges in one card! The 1st challenge is a sketch for 2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's sketch #32. The 2nd challenge is for Papertake Weekly, the challenge was to use colours or things, relating to one of the 4 seasons - I've used the colours of Autumn.

I used a digital stamp by Dustin Pike.......poor little "ouch" dragon! I used Prismacolor pencils and odourless mineral spirits to colour him. All cardstock is Stampin' Up, gingham paper by Christina Re, and a stamped Flourishes greeting.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Monkey business!

I've been neglecting Sandie's Alphabet Soup challenge lately, but this week I've made a card for 'M', for monkey! I just had to use this cute digital stamp image by Dustin Pike!

I've tried to keep this card in the clean and simple style, which I don't do very well as I keep wanting to add stuff......this is about as simple as I get! I coloured the image with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

If you like Dustin's images he currently has a fantastic deal on his blog! You can buy all of his digital images that he's released so far for US$25......that's for around 118 images! I already had bought a few earlier, but couldn't resist buying them all for this price! You better be quick though, the offer ends at midnight Sunday July 12! Check out THIS post! There are also lots of freebies on the site too........I think the cute monkey image I used is actually one of Dustin's freebies!

D is for................

I did this card a few days ago ready for Sandie's letter D in her Alphabet Soup challenge, thinking that D is for Dragon would be OK.....but wouldn't you know it, Sandie has put up a list of D words to choose from instead, and dragon wasn't one of them!

Ah well, doesn't matter as one of the D words is die-cut and I have used a little purple Cuttlebug mini tag die-cut under my greeting, so I'm still good to go with it!

The dragon image that I have used is a digital stamp, it's the first time I've used one of these. I recently discovered Dustin Pike's blog, who is the artist, Dustin releases a freebie image each Wednesday, so I thought I'd try this one out............I liked it so much that I ended up buying some more from his Etsy store.

I used my Prismacolour pencils and odourless mineral spirits with paper stumps to blend the colour.........I wasn't sure if the ink from my inkjet printer would smear with this technique, but I'm happy to say that it didn't! I probably should've done some shading around the images, but I was in a bit of a hurry to finish it........there's a bit too much white space around it for my liking.

Sorry about the angle the photo is on, but I took it at night and the gingham Christina Re paper has a metallic sheen to it that kept flaring in the light!

Thanks for dropping by, I'd love to hear what you think of my card, and digital stamps if you've used them.
