Another vintage Christmas card!

Hi again, here's another Christmas card, I've made it to fit the following challenges:

The Basic Grey papers are from the Wassail and Blitzen ranges, some oldies I still have in my stash.

Stamps, ink and the flower embellishment are by Kaisercraft. Images are sponged with Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink.

AnnaBelle Stamps - Say It In............Red, White and Blue!

Hi there, I'm here with another Guest Designer post for AnnaBelle Stamps! This week's challenge is 'Say It In..........Red, White and Blue'. So that's an easy one, just use red, white and blue colours on your card and don't forget to upload it at the AnnaBelle Stamps blog!


For my card I used the main image from the 'Lil Molly's Flowers' mini stamp set and my sentiment is from 'All Things Grow' stamp set. I coloured Lil Molly with Copic Markers and paper pieced her dress, I also added some Crystalline Kindy Glitz to the flower centres. My patterned papers are by Kaisercraft, I did a little distressing to the edges. The twine along the bottom of the card is called Twisted Paper Cord and is also available from AnnaBelle Stamps. I threaded it through the button and tied it in a bow, and to make it sit flat on my card I decided to run it through my Cuttlebug machine.......that worked a treat and made it easy to glue down. The 2 shades of blue cardstock is Bazzil.

Red and White with Ribbons and Pearls!

Hi there, I'm back again with another card to share! First of all, thanks so much for all your supportive comments from yesterday's post, it means a lot to have such caring bloggy friends! I'm so glad I have this blog as I find it very therapeutic making papercraft creations, it takes my mind off everything for a while.

I received some new stamps in the mail a couple of days ago, and for once I've used them straight away! The stamps are from the latest release from AnnaBelle Stamps - All Things Must Grow clear stamp set. I used Impress Poppy Red ink for the images and Versafine Onyx Black for the greeting. I used a Nestabilities die to cut out the image. My background is embossed with a Cuttlebug blossoms folder from the Asian set. Also used Martha Stewart border punch, ribbons from my stash, pearls, red and white cardstock.

Lilac Anniversary.

I used this week's CPS 153 sketch for this anniversary card. I've also used Stamp Simply #126 colour challenge - purple and green. The design papers are from the Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue 6 x 6 paper pad, take a closer look at the lovely lilac paper - it's embossed and all shimmery! The flourish stamp behind the greeting is from the Kaisercraft Lilac Ave clear stamp set - I used Hero Arts Shadow ink for it. The cardstock is Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant, and the greeting uses Justrite Stampers upper case Special Occasions alphas and lower case New Times Roman alphas.

You Rock!

We are in the middle of another heatwave Downunder, and it is sooo hot! I've had the airconditioner running since early this morning, but I've raised myself from my lethargy and made a card this afternoon.

I've based this card on two challenges, this week's CPS 148 sketch and the Basic Grey blog challenge, which was a photo inspiration.

My Basic Grey paper used is an old one that I've had in my stash for a while from the Motifica range. All the stamps are from a Grace Taylor clear unmounted set (by Grant Archival), I used Stampin' Up Close to Cocoa cardstock and ink.

I think this card would be great for a teenager or a male.....might give this to my son-in-law for his birthday next month, he loves his guitars! Let me know what you think!

More Christmas cards!

I've finally made a couple more Christmas cards........I don't think I'll be able to make all my cards this year at this rate!

I used sketch #141 from the CPS blog for the first card. All cardstock is by Stampin' Up, holly leaf stamps by Fiskars, tree stamp by Stamp Rosa and ink is Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy.

The 2nd card uses this week's sketch, Kazan's #39 from the 2Sketches 4You blog. I only used one stamp, the greeting, from a Stampin' Up set. The wreath is a Francheville die-cut, also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and Nestabilities die.

Just a quick update on my progress........I had a Porta Cath inserted in my arm last Monday and my first Chemo treatment is this coming Monday. I've been told I'll be there at the hospital for most of the day and will take home another lot of chemo which drip feeds through a pump over the following 48hrs....ick! At least I only have to do this every fortnight, so fingers crossed it's not too bad. I'm not sure how often my blog will get updated while I'm getting treatment, so if I'm MIA you'll know why! I'll be sure to keep you all posted when I can though, thanks for stopping by today!

Teenage birthday card.

I almost forgot it was my nephew's birthday this month! He will be 16 years old, and not having very many suitable stamps to use, this is what I came up with.

I combined two blog challenges to make the card, the 1st challenge is using the sketch from CPS sketch #128, and the 2nd challenge is from The Pink Elephant blog...a colour challenge - use the colours brown, turquoise and neutral.

My background Cuttlebug embossed piece uses a technique from the Aug/Sep 2009 Technique Junkies Newsletter called Al Foil.

For the chocolate background piece I used sequin waste as a stencil with Linen coloured acrylic paint.

FYI: Sequin waste is what's left over after sequins have been punched out of it.

CPS Challenge #127

This is a quickie card I made for CPS Challenge #127. All patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6 x 6" pad and I also used chipboard from the same range. Shapes cut with Nestabilities Label 1 dies, greeting by Stamp-It. Machine stitched around the background layer.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! It was lovely and sunny here today, so managed to get some things done in my garden..........bit sore and achy now, so I think a good soak in the bath would be just the thing right now. Talk to you later!

Here is my card for this week's CPS Sketch Challenge #126! It's just a quick card using a Stamping Bella stamp, coloured with markers and dye re-inkers. Used some Cuttlebug embossing folders and added some flowers.

I might be a bit late with my card for CPS Challenge #125, but here it is!

I used papers and clear stamps from the new Kaisercraft Pennyroyale range, Kaiser rhinestones, Bazzil and Stampin' Up cardstock, and the word stamp is by Christina Re.

CPS122

This is my card for this week's CPS sketch 122. The sketch is a pretty basic design, so I chose to use some beautiful elegant Christina Re flocked paper. It's hard to see from the photo, but the black part of the design is flocked and the background is a shimmery white - Please click on the photo for a larger view. The only stamp I used is the greeting from Flourishes Many Sentiments set, the die-cuts are made using Nestabilities Labels Four set.

I used Stampin' Up Purely Pomegranite cardstock to layer the PP onto, and used Purely Pomegranite re-inker mixed with a little water to colour the larger flower to match. The double bow is tied using my Bow-Easy.

Heavenly Butterfly.

This is my card for this weeks CPS sketch, CPS121.


I used a new technique from the latest issue of the Technique Junkies Newsletter called "Heavenly Holes". My background stamp is a Stampington Christine Adolph one called "Elegant Ledger" - I stamped it twice, the 2nd time it's upside down so there are scrolls on the top and on the bottom of the SU Baja Blue cardstock.

The layered butterfly is made using die-cuts, inked with blue ink and embossed with 3 different Cuttlebug embossing folders and topped with a metal butterfly embellishment.

Another owl card!

Yes, I do like owls LOL! It's my Dad's 80th birthday on Monday, I made my own card for him a while ago but my DD asked me to make one for her to give him too. I figured that at 80 years of age he must be a wise owl!

I used the sketch from CPS117 for the card. The chipboard owl is by Collections, I used the same technique as THIS CARD I did a while ago......this owl is a larger one though. The greeting is made with the Justrite Stamper tiny letters, the numbers are foam Thickers. Tree branch is from a Pink Paislee stamp set, PP is Christina Re.

We are going up to see Dad on Saturday as that is the only time we could all go together, and I'm really excited because my brother is making a visit from Townsville to surprise Dad for his birthday! I haven't seen him for over 2 years, he is bringing my 15yr old nephew too.......I bet he's grown heaps since last time I saw him. I pick them up from the airport on Friday.........cant' wait!

Some sweetness!

This is my card for CPS116 sketch challenge. I've succumbed to cuteness and bought this adorable Sarah Kay 'My Sweet Lili' stamp........doesn't she just make you go 'awwww!'

I coloured the image with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, the background papers are both Basic Grey, Prima vintage flowers and Kaiser rhinestones.

Happy Easter!

I'd just like to wish all my blog readers a Happy Easter! I hope you are able to spend some time with your family over the holiday. I'm going to visit my Dad tomorrow and will catch up with my daughters and family on Sunday.

Masculine Owl Card.

I totally forgot it was my Son-in-law's birthday until my daughter reminded me a couple of days ago.......my bad! I needed some inspiration in a hurry and had just copied the sketch of CPS #101 and had it sitting on my desk, so decided to use it!

I took a few liberties and used an oval instead of the round shape. I've used the Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder with Cappucino Core'dinations cardstock, then sanded back the embossing to reveal the core colour.

I felt the design still needed something on the top half of the card so I used a small Collections chipboard owl . At the last Melbourne Paperific I went to I visited the Pipedreamink ladies and they had a make-and-take with the larger chipboard owls and using their fabulous Opals Embossing Enamels (UTEE which comes in the most gorgeous colours!).......so I've put what I learned to use and covered my small chipboard owl with The Nut (brown) Opals and embossed him with an Autumn Leaves swirly stamp- a better description of how to use Opals is in the FAQ section on the Pipedreamink website. The eyes and beak are also covered with Zeehan (silver) Opals, then when it's melted with the heat gun, dipped into Dazzling Diamonds glitter.I've added some amber coloured Kaiser rhinestone gems as eyes, and edged the owl with a gold Krylon pen. There's a close-up photo below.

Other supplies used :- Happy Birthday greeting by Penny Black, bronze coloured brads, blue satin ribbon and blue staples, Nestabilities ovals, metal cake embellishment (from the $2 shop). I did a little decorating on the inside of the card too (see below). The balloon and cake slice stamps are by Fiskars, the greeting stamp is unidentified.

Three card challenges in one!

I needed to make a quick birthday card for my daughter's boyfriend whose birthday is today! I managed to knock over 3 challenges in one for the card!

I used this week's Cuttlebug Challenge of sand the embossing - I used Black Magic Core'dinations and sanded it back to reveal the turquoise core.

The 2nd challenge is using the CPS sketch #98

The 3rd challenge is the Papertake Weekly one, Seeing Spots - use spots, dots or circles on your card. I used the Cuttlebug Spots and Dots embossing folder, spotted Designer Paper, put some dots around the oval layer with a white Signo gel pen, used some round brads and pricked some dots around the aqua layer.....and used a red Kaiser gem for the bird's eye!

The Happy Birthday stamp is by Penny Black, the arrow stamp is by October Afternoon. The black glitter bird sticker is from The Sticker Cafe. Ink is Impress Teal dye ink, I inked up the stamp with Versamark, then the Impress Teal so I could clear emboss it. The ovals are cut with Nestabilities dies.

...hope it doesn't look too girly for him!
