Whole Lotta Love!

I couldn't resist using that title for this card, LOL! Yeah.......I know I'm showing my age, but Led Zeppelin were one of the great rock bands of my generation and I love that song!

OK, onto my card, I used the sketch from this post from Annabelle Stamps Blog. I used a Kaisercraft stamp, I stamped it twice with Stampin' Up Purely Pomegranite ink and cut the hearts out from the 2nd image to layer on dimensionals over the first image. I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss a piece of SU Purely Pomegranite cardstock and cut one edge with a Fiskars border punch. I layered it over a piece of black cardstock and onto a white folded square card. Just added some pink rhinestones and black and white polka dot organza ribbon, nice and easy!

I think this card could be used for an Anniversary, Valentines Day or even Mother's Day.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Inkurable Stampers Cyberparty.

Last weekend was Inkurable Stampers 2nd birthday cyberparty. I spent the weekend away so missed all the chat, fun and games over there, but we had until Wednesday night to complete 3 challenges. I did manage to do all 3 challenges yesterday, yay!

The first challenge was a sketch challenge from a Pagemaps sketch. Since I didn't have a lot of time, I delved into my stash of painted backgrounds and home-made designer paper. I started with an olive coloured folded card, added a background piece of watercolour paper painted with a couple of green shades of Twinkling H2O's, I also pricked around the borders of this piece. I cut some Cuttlebug scalloped squares out of an orange Twinkling H2O's piece of watercoloured paper and some from some home-made designer paper - I randomly stamped some shadow stamps and nature images using different coloured inks over some white cardstock. I stamped the Heidi Grace word stamp onto the orange scallop and a Kaisercraft flower onto the other 2 scallops. I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes set for my main piece, stamped onto SU Old Olive cardstock and added a row of Kaisercraft rhinestones along the bottom.

The 2nd challenge was to create a stamped piece of art 2 x 4 inches. I made a little hanger for my project. I'm sorry I don't know who makes the stamp I used, I bought it off ebay as an unidentified unmounted stamp - if anyone knows who makes it please let me know! I started with a piece of white cardstock and sponged it with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink, then I stamped the art doll image using black Versafine ink. I trimmed the image to 2 x 4 inches then sponged the edges with TH Tea Dye Distress Ink and TH Black Soot Distress Ink. I highlighted parts of the wings with a white Signo gel pen and also used it for the striped socks. Added 2 black eyelets at the top and threaded some red fibre through to hang it.

Edited: Kathi let me know that the Art Doll image is by Lost Coast Designs.....thanks Kathi!

The 3rd challenge was to use the spotlighting technique on your project. I started with SU Old Olive cardstock for my card base. My red background piece is similar to what I used for my anniversary card in my last post, using Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink and Tattered Angels Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist, but I also added some Tattered Angels Bronze Glimmer Mist to this one. I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up Oh so Lovely set for my main image and used Prismacolour Pencils and Gamsol Tech for the spotlighted circle. I used a Kelly Panacci border stamp on the top and bottom of the background piece and added some black and white organza polka dot ribbon and a black button tied with olive embroidery thread. The red background is adhered to black cardstock and then adhered to the Old Olive card.

Whew, that's it! Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

Anniversary Card

Hi everyone, would you believe that today is our 36th wedding anniversary! Where did all those years go, it certainly doesn't feel so long since we got married! The last 6 months since I was diagnosed with cancer has really made me realise how much my husband loves and cares about me. I've made him this card to show him how much I care about him too.

I've used the Inkurable Stampers April theme for my card, which is to use the colours Red, Black and White on your project.

My red background piece started off as a piece of white cardstock, I used Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink and Tattered Angels Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist to colour it. I stamped the Stamp-It Distressed Frame corner directly onto my background and also stamped a Kelly Panacci ornate border stamp near the bottom. I added a piece of black cardstock punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and placed a piece of red Stampin' Up taffeta ribbon over it. I stamped the words in TH Fired Brick ink and Versafine black then cut out with a Nestabilities Label 4 die, I then used more TH Fired Brick and TH Black Soot inks sponged around the edges. Adhered the greeting onto the background with dimensional dots, added a large black brad to the top right and some black Kaisercraft rhinestones along the bottom. I sponged the edges of the background piece with TH Black Soot ink, adhered the whole piece to some black cardstock, then onto a white card. I stamped the Stampin' Up heart using TH Fired Brick again onto white card, then cut it out and adhered to the card with dimensional dots.

I've shown a close-up to hopefully show the glimmer on the red background. Click on the photo for a closer look.

Thanks once again for stopping by, hope you like my card today!

Lilac bling card.

Where has the last week gone?? The days just seem to be flying by right now, I managed a little playtime today and made this card for Annabelle Stamps bling challenge using the sketch.

The papers are from Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue 6 x 6 pad, the background heart swirl stamp is from the same collection. The greeting stamp is by Stamp-It, also used Kaisercraft rhinestones, some lilac ribbon, Martha Stewart butterfly punch and Bazzil cardstock.

I'll be away at the beach over the weekend, the forecast is for showers! Monday, it's back to chemo again so I'll post again when I can. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll talk with you soon.

Happy Easter!

Good morning everyone, it's Good Friday today so I've just had hot cross buns for breakfast....yum! I made some Easter cards last weekend so here they are. The 2nd and 3rd card have used the Card Patterns Sketch 57. I don't have a lot of Easter stamps so decided to use some of the free clip art that I've been collecting and not using much. I'm not sure where I got these images from, but I mostly get my clip-art from the Dover Publications free samples or from The Graphics Fairy . I love the vintage images, hope you like them too!

Thanks for looking, hope you all have a Happy Easter, with lots of chocolate!

Wedding Photos

Hi everyone, here are some of the photos from my daughter, Hayley, and new SIL, Trevor's wedding.

As you can see from the photo, the weather was just perfect for an outdoor wedding!

My DH organised the cars for the wedding, this one belongs to his cousin's DH, the others belonged to his hot rodding mates.

Hayley made the wedding cake and all those cupcakes, which she decorated as well.

The happy couple at the wedding reception!

My grand daughter, Annika was the flower girl. She was just perfect during the ceremony, the wedding celebrant was using a microphone to speak through and Annika was just mesmerised by it.......she looked like she was hanging off every word!

Annika is with her Mum, my other daughter Jo......yes, she and Hayley are twins too!

Last one, here's one of Annika and her Nana....Me! In case your wondering, I haven't gone grey overnight, I decided to grow my hair colour out when I became a Nana!

It's been a while...........!!!

Hi everyone, sorry it's been longer than I expected since my last post! I mentioned that my daughter, Hayley, was getting married on March 20th, then there was my brother and his family staying with me for a while.........but, then I came down with a nasty cold........and to top it off, my computer got a nasty virus too!!

Well, the happy couple have gone off on their honeymoon.......I had a wonderful time at their wedding, catching up with family and friends, my brother has gone back home to Queensland, my cold is on the mend.....I needed to get some antibiotics because of the risk of a temperature spike with the chemo drugs, and my computer is behaving itself for now.......although I did have to get a 2nd visit from the computer doctor!

Here is the card I made for Hayley and her new hubby, Trevor. I made it quite large, I think it was approximately 6" x 8", of course I didn't have an envelope big enough and it was rather bulky so I made a little box to present it in. Hayley absolutely loved it and showed it to everyone, so I was quite pleased with the result.

This is the card front, (above)I used a new large size Cuttlebug embossing folder and highlighted it with stickles. The beaded hatpin was a gift in a goodie bag from my lovely friend and Stampin' Up rep, Angela......it arrived at just the right time!

The photo below shows the inside of the card. I didn't make the card with any particular challenge in mind, but I discovered that it fitted perfectly with Sandie's blog candy challenge!

The photos below are of the box I made for the card. The papers used for the card and the box are from EK Success 'I Do' range, I've had these for a while, so they are probably no longer available. Just click on any of the photos for a larger view.

I haven't been in my craft room for several weeks now, but I'm hoping to get something done over the weekend......before it's back to chemo treatment again on Monday.....blah!!

Well, I think that's it from me for now.....I will post a few of the wedding photos soon for you all to see.

Puppy Love!

Don't you just love this cute little guy? He's one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, he's called 'I'm so cute'! I've used him for this week's Simply Saturday CAS sketch over at Andrea's Stampin' Moments. You also had to use some stitching or faux stitching on your card.

The cardstock is Stampin' Up Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink, the heart stamp and the greeting is from a Heidi Grace stamp set, 'Tags and Words'.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like my card today!

I may not have a lot of craft time happening over the next 2 weeks, my daughter gets married in just over a week's time and my brother and his family are arriving tomorrow night to stay with us for a while.....I haven't seen him since last June, before I got diagnosed with cancer, so it will be lovely to see him. Anyways, my craft room will get taken over as a guest bedroom for my nephew, so I can't see myself making anything while it's in use! I still have to make a wedding card though!! Better get busy with that before they arrive!

Blue Floral card.

Good morning everyone, this is just a quickie post as I'm running late again. I've used the sketch from Mojo Monday #128 for my card.

The flower image and DP is by Heidi Grace, the greeting is by Stamp-It.....I really love the swirly font on this one! Ribbon and lace is from Tarisota, also used the Martha Stewart lattice border punch.

I think the drought has finally broken down here in Melbourne! It has rained buckets since Friday, the sun is out again today but the forecast is for strong winds....no sign of them yet though. We had hail the size of tennis balls hit the city on Saturday, although lucky for us it didn't hit out in the suburbs! Flemington races had to be called off because of the hail and awful conditions at the racecourse, my daughter is getting married there in 2 weeks time.........lucky it wasn't this weekend!!!

Simply Sweet!

Hi everyone, I'm back again with a card which is suitable for 3 challenges!

Firstly, Annabelle's Bling Sketch Challenge.
Second challenge is Pink Elephant's - add GREEN to your colour combo.
Thirdly, Papertake Weekly - Buttons, bows, brads and bling - Use one or all four combinations.

Edited to add: I've just found a fourth challenge for my card! Saturday Spotlight is having a 'Clean it Up' CAS (Clean and Simple) card challenge this week!

I used a new stamp that Andrea, from Annabelle Stamps kindly sent me just for entering one of her Simply Saturday challenges on her other blog, Andrea's Stampin' Moments! Andrea also sent me some of her Sprinkles (bling), which I've used on my card also. The greeting is from the My Favourite Things - 'Here's the Scoop' stamp set.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers, and since I don't have enough colours yet, I used Prismacolor Pencils to blend and highlight the Copics. I think it turned out OK, let me know what you think!

The Design Paper is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6 x 6 paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a great day!
