Baby Girl Card.

I was going through my stash of cards a few days ago and noticed that I don't have many baby cards at the moment! Since I have a new grand-baby on the way I thought I'd better rectify that and make a few more! Here's a baby girl card......and no, I don't know what sex the baby is yet!

I used a Forever Friends bear stamp as my main image and coloured it with Copic Markers, then layered it onto a paper doily. The pink cardstock is Bazzil and the DP is by Heidi Grace. I used a Nestabilities Label ? (I forget what number it is and I'm too lazy to go look!) The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I punched it out with the word window punch. I also added some pink satin ribbon and used my Bowmaker to tie the bow.

My card qualifies for the Forever Friends monthly challenge - A card for a girl. I also used this week's sketch from Card Patterns.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Butterfly and orchid card.

Good morning everyone, here's my card for today! I've used Darkroom Door stamps for my images - the orchid is from the Wildflower set, the tiny butterfly is from the Full Bloom Vol. 2 set, the greeting is by Stamp-It. I used Crushed Olive Distress Ink for the orchid and greeting and Brilliance Starlite Black for the butterfly - love this ink, it looks like a shimmery grey colour. The Designer Paper is Basic Grey 'Among the ruins' from Scarlet's Letter Collection. The cardstock is Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey, the black is Pedigree Paper. The ribbon is also Stampin' Up.

I've entered this card for the following challenges:
Card Patterns - Sketch 97
Basic Grey Challenges - Dots and Spots
.
Moxie Fab World - Gray is the new Black challenge.
Let's Ink It Up - Anything Goes.

Please spare a thought today for the residents of the state of Queensland here in Australia. I'm sure you've heard of the devastating floods there affecting 75% of the state - to put that in perspective, it's an area the size of France and Germany combined! We won't know the extent of the damage and lives lost for some weeks to come yet. Already there have been heartbreaking stories emerge of children or their parents being swept away by flood waters, a lot of these people had no warning of the floods as they approached too fast to act. If you can, please donate to the appeal or help in any way you are able to!
BTW, if you think that climate change doesn't happen, well, this is the result of what happens when our oceans get too warm!

Christmas Trees

Hi everyone, I'm madly trying to get my Christmas preparations done before we head down to Torquay tomorrow (Christmas Eve) for Christmas at my daughter, Hayley's home. I spent yesterday baking some Christmas cookies, I still have to decorate one batch of them and find time to wrap presents! I think I will be having a late night tonight!

Today's card uses Sketch #95 from Card Patterns. I used the tree stamp from Annabelle Stamps Whoo Loves Christmas stamp set and coloured it with Copic Markers. I also added a little Stickles glitter to the baubles and used some Distress Ink around the edges. The DP is by Basic Grey from an older range, cardstock is Stampin' Up and Bazzil (lighter green). I also used some Sprinkles from Annabelle Stamps, a Fiskars border punch, the greeting is a Making Memories rub-on and the organza ribbon is recycled from a gift.

Since I won't be back here until after Christmas, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all my blog readers a very merry Christmas with your families, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Card Patterns Sketch #93

Hi there, I'm back again with another Chrissy card! This one uses Sketch #93 from Card Patterns. I used the same Inkadinkado stamp that I used for THIS CARD, but this time I stamped it onto some Stampin' Up Kraft cardstock and coloured it with Prismacolor Markers.

I'll be back again soon with another card to post, I've been so busy making cards lately I haven't had time to post them all yet.

Hedgie Birthday!

Hi everyone, sorry my posts are getting a little further apart, but I have so much else going on these days I hope you understand. Today is my twin daughters' birthdays and this is the card I made for Jo - hopefully she's not reading this as I'm not seeing her until tomorrow!

I used this week's sketch from Card Patterns #71 . My main image is of course one of Penny Black's hedgehog stamps, such cute characters. I've coloured the image with Copic Markers. The flowers borders are by Heidi Grace and the sentiment is computer generated using a Kim Hughes font. The green gingham paper is by Christine Re, and all cardstock is by Stampin' Up. Embellishments are some purple gingham ribbon, some painted wood flowers and metal brads.

We are heading down to Torquay tomorrow to visit my daughter Hayley, Jo and family are coming too so we can have a little belated birthday celebration for them both. I'll be back in a couple of days and I'll post the card I made for Hayley then.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I love to read your comments, they brighten my day!

Happy Easter!

Good morning everyone, it's Good Friday today so I've just had hot cross buns for breakfast....yum! I made some Easter cards last weekend so here they are. The 2nd and 3rd card have used the Card Patterns Sketch 57. I don't have a lot of Easter stamps so decided to use some of the free clip art that I've been collecting and not using much. I'm not sure where I got these images from, but I mostly get my clip-art from the Dover Publications free samples or from The Graphics Fairy . I love the vintage images, hope you like them too!

Thanks for looking, hope you all have a Happy Easter, with lots of chocolate!

Card Patterns Sketch #28

Time seems to have gotten away from me this week! Sorry for not posting for nearly a week, I have been extra busy this week and just haven't had a lot of computer or craft time lately.

I made this card today for Card Patterns Sketch #28. The elephant stamp is from the retired Stampin' Up 'Wild about You' set........and it's the first time I've used this set! I've had it for ages too! The greeting is by Stampin' Up too, as is the cardstock and ribbon. The design paper is by Heidi Grace.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Card Patterns Sketch #27

I used another of the Al Foil (Technique Junkie Newsletter - August/September 2009) Cuttlebugged pieces for this Father's Day card. The Card Patterns Sketch #27 was a simple design, the only stamps used are the Stamp-It 'Father's Day' and the small 'Dad' made with JustRite Stampers alphas.

Thanks for looking! We are having an early bit of Spring weather today and tomorrow...yay! Hope you have a great weekend wherever you are in the world!

Card Patterns Sketch #22

I managed to find time to do a quick card for Card Patterns Sketch #22!

All papers are from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie 6" x 6" paper pad, I've also used Chipboard stickers from the same range. The only stamp is the greeting from Hero Arts 'Hello Birdie' Sparkle Clear set.

My background is Basic Grey paper, I used a technique called 'Double Bugging' from the June/July Technique Junkie Newsletter.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Have a great weekend!

Card Patterns Sketch #13

This is my entry for Card Patterns Sketch #13. I can no longer make Mother's Day cards for my own Mother as she passed away 2 years ago, but this year is my daughter's very first Mother's Day! This card is for her.

The Mother and child stamp is by Crafty Individuals, the greeting is by Stamp-It. Sorry about the photo, I took it at night and couldn't get the true colours.......they look nicer in real life!

Thanks for looking!

Card Patterns Sketch #12

Card Patterns sketch #12 was a very simple design, so I made a very quick card for it. The base card is Stampin' Up Kraft card, the teal layers are Bazzil card, Basic Grey PP, Prima flowers and the teal ones are punched. I used Core'dinations cardstock under the flowers and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder and sanded back to reveal the core colour.

I distressed the edges and sewed around the PP layer, also used Stampin' Up greeting from the Yummy set, Kaiser rhinestones, Fiskars Water Threading Punch and Stampin' Up window punch.

Thanks for looking!

Card Patterns Sketch #11

I've used another of my new stamps to do this card for Card Patterns Sketch #11. I like this happy, fun clown image, it's just right for a child's birthday card! It's by Stamp-It, an Aussie company.

I used Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits to blend the colour, two different Cuttlebug folders to emboss the cardstock and added some royal blue grosgrain ribbon and a red button, to match the clown's nose, to finish off.

Hope you like my card, thanks for visiting today!

Card Patterns Sketch #9

I've done this card for the sketch challenge #9 at Card Patterns blog. I chose an Oriental theme.

I used a new technique called Newsprint Reveal from the latest April/May issue of The Technique Junkies Newsletter. I put my own twist on the technique by using a page from a Chinese book instead of newspaper.

My silhouette stamp is from the Stonehouse Stamps Oriental Plate 10 and the 'Esteem' definition is from the Leave Memories 'Japanese Lessons' stamp plate. I've added thin red satin ribbon, a red flower gem, cherry blossom washi paper and I raised the definition on dimensional squares.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today!

Easter Bunny Card.

I've used sketch #7 from the Card Patterns blog to make this card.

The greeting is from the Stampin Up "All Year Cheer" set, bunny stamp is by Oogaloo and the flower stamps are all from the Heidi Grace "Tags and Words" set. The papers are from the Basic Grey "Urban Prairie" 6 x 6 pad. Cardstock is Bazzil "Limade", also added pink Kaiser rhinestones to the Fiskars lacy border punched paper.

Here's a close-up so you can see the dimension of the bunny and flower that I cut out and popped onto dimensional dots. I coloured the images with markers (assorted Whispers and Tombow), I did the blue background with chalk. Oh, and the bunny tail is covered with Frosted Lace Stickles, and I used oval and scalloped oval Nestabilities dies.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Card Patterns Sketch #5

My New Zealand blogging friend Sonya (Pickles Patch blog) told me about the Card Patterns blog, they have a new challenge sketch each week - Sonya is on the Design Team there! I had some new toys to play with today, so thought I'd give Sketch #5 a go.

My new toys are some Justrite Stampers - I've been eyeing these off on many of the US blogs and really wanting some, but they were way too expensive to buy from here with our crappy dollar right now.......but, then I found an online store here in Melbourne who would order just what I wanted at a reasonable price, so HAD to buy them!

I used the Justrite Stampers to spell out 'Mum' and used one of the borders from my set. The pretty pink paper is by Christina Re designs. Sadly, I no longer make Mother's Day cards for my own Mum as she died 2 years ago..........she would've loved this card though!
