Snowflake card

Hi everyone, back with a quick post of another Christmas card. For this card I used the Simply Saturday sketch from Andrea's Stampin' Moments blog.

Stamps used are Fiskars snowflake border and Pink Paislee greeting. I like the softness of the Versamagic Sea Breeze ink that I used. The large snowflake is a cuttlebug cut and emboss die, the small snowflake is punched with a Carl punch, silver cardstock is embossed with Swiss Dots folder. I inked the large snowflake, then glittered it with Diamond Dust.

OK, that's it for now! Hope you like my card.

Simply Silhouetted!

Hi everyone, this card is for Andrea's Stampin' Moments Simply Saturday challenge - Simply Silhouetted. I really love silhouette stamps, you don't really have to do a lot to them, just stamp it on a nice background, add a little bling and there you go!

My stamp is by Hero Arts, the greeting is from Stamp-It. I just stamped the flowers onto some patterned paper.......I have no idea who the maker is as I only have a few scraps left, wish I had some more really! I added a colour lift with some red gingham ribbon. Not sure if this is a true CAS card as it has a few layers, but it was pretty easy to make. Hope you like it!

Just on a personal note, it is an anniversary of sorts today for me. Not one that you'd want though, it's one year today since I was diagnosed with cancer. It hasn't been a great year, but, the good thing is that I'm still here to talk about it.........and I'm not planning to go anytime soon either!

....and now for something completely different!

I made this card for my friend Vicky's birthday yesterday. Stampotique Originals are a little bizarre, but I know Vicky loves them so I used the 'Moth Fab' image for her card.

Andrea's (Andrea's Stampin' Moments blog) Simply Saturday challenge this week was to use a background stamp on a one-layered card. I used a large Inkadinkado background stamp and stamped it directly onto my mauve card using purple Hero Arts dye ink, I highlighted the 'happy birthday' with a white Signo gel pen and also used the pen to draw a rectangle around the background. I coloured 'Moth Fab' with Copic and Prismacolor Markers then cut her out and layered her to the left side on dimensional foam. I just added some Kaisercraft Rhinestones as an embellishment for an easy card.

Hope you enjoyed looking at something a little different this time, please let me know what you think!

Birthday Bear.

Apologies everyone for being MIA lately, I have been making cards.....I just have so much else going on lately that I don't have much time for blogging!

I'd already made this card when I saw Andrea's (Andrea's Stampin' Moments) Simply Saturday challenge - to use scallops. I used a Martha Stewart scallop punch on my card. The birthday bear is a stamp by Stamp-It, I coloured him with my limited supply of Copic Markers. I'm not sure who makes the Design Paper, it was in my scrap pile with the name cut off, I added a row of chocolate coloured Kaisercraft pearls and some stitched ribbon. The cardstock is by Stampin' Up, I'm so disappointed that 'Close to Cocoa' is being discontinued, it's one of my favourite colours!

I'm way behind with my blog visits, I hope to catch up soon. Thanks so much for visiting today!

Puppy Love!

Don't you just love this cute little guy? He's one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, he's called 'I'm so cute'! I've used him for this week's Simply Saturday CAS sketch over at Andrea's Stampin' Moments. You also had to use some stitching or faux stitching on your card.

The cardstock is Stampin' Up Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink, the heart stamp and the greeting is from a Heidi Grace stamp set, 'Tags and Words'.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you like my card today!

I may not have a lot of craft time happening over the next 2 weeks, my daughter gets married in just over a week's time and my brother and his family are arriving tomorrow night to stay with us for a while.....I haven't seen him since last June, before I got diagnosed with cancer, so it will be lovely to see him. Anyways, my craft room will get taken over as a guest bedroom for my nephew, so I can't see myself making anything while it's in use! I still have to make a wedding card though!! Better get busy with that before they arrive!

Simply Saturday Sketch.

Here is my card for Andrea's Stampin' Moments Simply Saturday Sketch SS200210. I've used the 6 x 6 Design Papers and stamps from Kaisercraft's Lilac Avenue range again, I'm really liking these colours together!

My green background cardstock uses a technique called 'Simple Whitewash' from the Technique Junkies August/September Newsletter, it's a very simple technique and perfect for toning down the very bright lime green cardstock! The background shadow squares behind the flower image is a stamp by Handprint Stamps, I'm not sure if this company still exists anymore though.

I've just added one Kaisercraft rhinestone to the flower centre and a tied scrap of ribbon for embellishments.

I'm not sure what happened to my watermark, it just disappeared while I was editing a photo in Photo Elements, so I've made a new one with a more elegant font this time. Thanks for visiting today, hope everything is well in your part of the world!
