Oriental beauty.

Well, the heatwave goes on here....the top temp hit 44C yesterday, and overnight was an equal record minimum temp of 30.6C....and that happened at 8.46am! I had the air conditioner running when I went to bed, but wouldn't you know it, we had a power blackout just after midnight! Fortunately the outage only lasted for a couple of hours, but it was still a shocker for sleeping much! Today was supposed to be cooler, but they've now upgraded that forecast to 40C.....ack!

The good thing is that it's been too hot to do much of anything, so I had another play with my Copic Markers and created this card for the OSA Card Layout Challenge #53. I took a little artistic licence with the sketch as I wanted to show a bit more of the lovely washi paper.

The beautiful Oriental stamp is by Stamp-It, an Aussie company, the gold triangle pieces are from a Cuttlebug die set. Also used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch, the butterflies have holographic stickers applied to the wings, and a gold kanji peel-off. The kanji is the symbol for beautiful.

I still need more practice with the Copic Markers, don't look too closely as I bled outside the lines....need to get that blender pen soon I think! Thanks for stopping by today!

I stopped over from OSA to let you know that she is a true beauty. I love that stamp, I don't think I have seen anything like it. Your card is just beautiful.

your card looks great Lyn. Colour is fabulous and the washi strip certainly compliments your copic coloured stamp. What a night you had down there!

Love the vibrant colours, & those copics certainly sound like a great investment. I hope you`re coping well with the heat we`ve had, & that you`ve enjoyed todays` much cooler conditions, hugs from V :)

Hi Lyn, this card is, as are many of your others I've been gazing at this morning, gorgeous. I love that HMouse one, I have that stamp too. I've been doing heaps of cards this past week with HM images I've watercoloured. So nice to be stamping and not scrapping for a change. I was in a year long challenge last year. I'm over scrapping for just a little while and enjoying my rubber stamp art 'roots' again.
Take care,
Love

Lyn, when you said 'dont look closley"...well i couldn't help myself, But its awesome, you have done very well with your Copic markers. I have a blogger friend in Germany who uses these as well, I have not seen them in NZ yet, not here in the south Island anyway, but they do look very cool!
