Lavender and Lime card

Hi everyone, I'm running late again with my entry for this month's Inkurable Stampers challenge - this month's theme is Lavender and Lime.

I started my card with a piece of glossy magazine page, painted on some white gesso and sponged with Versacolor Heliotrope and Lime once it had dried. I then stamped my Darkroom Door images using Versafine Black ink onto the piece - the images are all from the Wildflower Vol 1 stamp set. I added a few Kaisercraft rhinestones to the middle image and the butterfly. I adhered my stamped piece onto some Stampin' Up Eggplant cardstock wrapped some lavender ribbon around the bottom half, then adhered the piece to some Bazzil Limeade cardstock. My card base is white cardstock layered with SU eggplant cardstock and a piece of Kaisercraft Lilac Ave designer paper. I layered my stamped piece onto my card using dimensional squares. The word is stamped onto a scrap of the designer paper and layered onto SU eggplant cardstock, then adhered to the card.

Hope you enjoy my card today, thanks for stopping by!

More Christmas in July cards.

Here's my next installment of Christmas in July cards! Both cards qualify for Drunken Stampers Christmas card challenge and this first one is for Sandie's Day 4 Christmas in July challenge - inking. My stamps are all from Darkroom Door's Yuletide Collection Vol.2. I used Versafine Vintage Sepia ink for the Santa image and greeting, then sponged on some Fired Brick Distress ink. I coloured the holly leaves with Shabby Shutters Distress ink and the berries with Fired Brick Distress ink, then covered them with red glitter glue. The background branches are inked with Impress Olive Green ink and randomly stamped, the edges of the background piece are also sponged with this ink.

The second card is for Day 3 of Sandie's challenges - Reindeer. I used stamps from Hero Arts Jolly Christmas clear stamp set, I added a red Kaisercraft rhinestone for his nose and some fun googly eyes. Also used some Christmassy ribbon, Stampin' Up Kraft cardstock and DP by Kaisercraft (blue/snow dots) and Basic Grey (red). I'm not entirely happy with this card, I may go back and add an embellishment to it as it looks like it needs something else.....maybe a snowflake die-cut on the ribbon?

Thanks for stopping by today, I'd love to read your comments on these cards!

Christmas in July.

Hi everyone, there are a heap of challenges at the moment for Christmas in July cards. Since I'm always leaving mine until the last minute, I decided that this year I would get a head start on my cards. Sandie is having a month long challenge with a new theme each day, you can join in at any time though.

My first card is for Sandie's Day 1 challenge to use your Cuttlebug on your card, I've also entered it for Annabelle Stamps embossing challenge and Drunken Stampers Christmas card challenge. The stamp is by Stamp-It and I used the Victorian Cuttlebug embossing folder.

My 2nd card is for Sandie's Day 2 challenge, to use holly somewhere on your card....and it's another one for Drunken Stampers Christmas cards. My stamp is from the Darkroom Door Yuletide Vol 2 stamp set and the Design Paper is by Basic Grey. I sponged Shabby Shutters Distress ink over my image and coloured the leaves and berries with Distress inks too, then covered the berries with red glitter glue. The cardstock is some retired In-Colours from Stampin' Up.

Have a great day, and I'll be back tomorrow with some more Christmas cards to show you.

Birdie Birthday!

Hi everyone, here is my card for Annabelle Stamps Bling Sketch Challenge. The stamps, cardstock and ribbon are all by Stampin' Up.....I love the polka dot ribbon! Patterned Paper is by Basic Grey, rhinestones by Kaisercraft. I used Stampin' Up Baja Breeze ink for the little flowers and Versafine Vintage Sepia ink for the image and greeting.

I hope you like my card today, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, although I did get the sketch wrong......used 5 strips instead of 4. Doh!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Harry Hoo-day to You!

Today is my beautiful little grand-daughter's 2nd birthday! She can't quite get her mouth around singing "Happy Birthday to you", so her version is "Harry Hoo-day to you".......she sounds so cute singing it!

I decided to try my hand at making my 1st Easel card, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. I think I'll be making more of these cards in the future. I used a new stamp set which I received as a prize from Annabelle's Stamps, it's called "Helen's Party". By the way Annabelle Stamps is celebrating a release of 4 new stamp sets, you have a chance of winning some new stamps if you go on the blog-hops.

I coloured the images with Copic Markers, and stamped the flower and balloon images a 2nd time, cut them out and put them on dimensional dots. I added some Dimensional Magic to the flower centres and Kindy Glitz to the balloon. The birthday greeting is from a Hero Arts cupcake stamp set and I've punched it out with a Stampin' Up scallop punch. All cardstock is Stampin' Up, the gingham PP is Christina Re and the pink PP is Basic Grey. The flower is embossed metal, not sure where I got it from it's been in my stash for ages, the half pearls are also from Annabelle Stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo but the Bella chipboard number and letters are glittered. Other supplies used are a Fiskars border punch, ribbon, braid, button, heart brad and embroidery floss from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm off now to see the birthday girl!

All-in-One Gift Box

Hi everyone, I found a tutorial by Wendy Weixler on the Splitcoast Stampers site for this cute little All-in-One box. It's finished size is fairly small, but just the right size for a little cupcake shaped gift soap. You could also use this for chocolates or jewellery etc.

I used a double sided sheet of Kaisercraft patterned paper. The lid is not a separate piece, it's the reverse side of the PP.

This is the top view of the box. I've seen a bunch of these rosettes made with ribbon, but I thought to myself that I could use the same method with a piece of pretty lace. Basically all you do is use a threaded needle to sew a running stitch across the top of the lace, then draw it up tightly and tie off the ends. I used a large vintage button to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Another Hedgie Birthday!

Hello, I'm back again from my weekend away with my family. While the weather was pretty cold and wet at times, we had a lovely time together celebrating our girls' birthday. Here's the card I made for Hayley, I used the Annabelle Stamps Bling Sketch Challenge for my layout, there's still time to enter this challenge, you have until Friday to get your entry in.

I used another Penny Black Hedgie stamp, I have a heap of these cute stamps that haven't seen much inking lately. I coloured the image with Copic Markers and added a bit of Dimensional Magic to the flower centres. The greeting is from a Hero Arts clear set and I've curved it around to fit the shape of the Nestabilities circle die. The patterned paper is by Kaisercraft, I used both sides of a double-sided sheet. The cardstock is Stampin' Up Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral, the ribbon is also SU Certainly Celery. Embellishments are a Prima flower, Hero Arts gem flower and Kaisercraft rhinestones.

Hope you are having a great day, the sun is shining here this morning but I bet it's still cold outside!

Hedgie Birthday!

Hi everyone, sorry my posts are getting a little further apart, but I have so much else going on these days I hope you understand. Today is my twin daughters' birthdays and this is the card I made for Jo - hopefully she's not reading this as I'm not seeing her until tomorrow!

I used this week's sketch from Card Patterns #71 . My main image is of course one of Penny Black's hedgehog stamps, such cute characters. I've coloured the image with Copic Markers. The flowers borders are by Heidi Grace and the sentiment is computer generated using a Kim Hughes font. The green gingham paper is by Christine Re, and all cardstock is by Stampin' Up. Embellishments are some purple gingham ribbon, some painted wood flowers and metal brads.

We are heading down to Torquay tomorrow to visit my daughter Hayley, Jo and family are coming too so we can have a little belated birthday celebration for them both. I'll be back in a couple of days and I'll post the card I made for Hayley then.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I love to read your comments, they brighten my day!

Flower Card

I'm back again as promised with another card today, I'm on a roll here, LOL! This card is for Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge, and I'm almost down to the wire again with only one day left to get my card finished in time. Well, I did actually finish this one a few days ago, just hadn't got it photographed until today.

My flower stamp is by Hero Arts, the greeting is from a Heidi Grace stamp set. I coloured the image with Copic Markers, the bling (Sprinkles) and pearls are both from Annabelle Stamps, the Design Paper is from Heidi Grace. Also added some Prima flowers, buttons and ribbon from my stash and Stampin' Up cardstock - Old Olive and Creamy Caramel.

Hope you are having a great day, it's very chilly here in Melbourne today!
