Butterfly Card

This is a card that I have done for a new Aussie challenge blog called Inkurable Stampers ..........love the name, and definitely applies to me LOL! This particular challenge just requires you to use 'wings' somewhere on your project, and to use at least one stamp.
I've used the new stamps that I got from the Paperific show a few weeks ago - they are from the Wildflower Essentials collection by The Darkroom Door, the word greeting is by Heidi Grace. My background for the stamped piece is called the Burnt Edges Technique from the Feb 2007 Technique Junkies Newsletter - I really do love this technique! I stamped the butterfly onto a fairly stiff orange vellum and embossed it with black embossing powder, then cut around it. I rubbed the back of the wings with an embossing stylus to get the raised wing effect - just placed it on an old foam mouse mat first, and then glued just the body of the butterfly to my card. The blue background piece is a purchased hand made canvas paper.
I made this card for my DH for our 34th wedding anniversary today!.......................and yes, he forgot it.................again! He did like the card though. Thanks for looking.

sorry Lyn that 'anon' comment was mine and I obviously ticked the wrong 'box' (I never want to be an anon!)

That's one really nice card! I wanted to get in the Technique Junkies newsletter, but it never seems to fit in my budget! and our car just died today, just moments ago, we were all set to go grocery shopping and now I can't go, I'll have to do it the old way, by bus, until our car is fixed. Urgh!

I hope it's not too late to wish you a happy year following your anniversary. We're heading for our 10th in August, weird! :) (I did get married late!)
